The match maybe terrifying but it is just an organized way to fill thousands of jobs. If you are as good as you think you are you will match and be happy. BUT getting a spot through the match is like getting any other job. You don;t just get an interview becuse you apply. THere are scores, etc that will be filtered. But How do you get around that. How do get to get an interview to get in the match. well you need to network, when do you start….. NOW, if by now we are talking to someone who is in highschool!! THe earlier the better. You need to contact people talk, ask advice , help, reach out, chat with, care about etc to get help for you 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 years later. Trying to “ network” 1 mo be for ERAS app is released, or during intervew season is never going to work. all the person will thingk is that “this dude wants me to help them get a residency”, and they know there is nothing in it for them. THat is not networking. Creating a network is about the effort you put in for the other person. If you can put more work in for them, they are happy to do simple work for you. THey are biased in your feavor.
